Ambili Thomas is currently working as a Senior Lecturer with Botho University (BU), Gaborone. She is pursuing her PhD in Computer Science with the University of Botswana. She has over 17 years of combined experience in academia and the software industry. Before joining BU, she was working as a Software Professional with Software Application and Information Solutions (SAiS) Botswana.
Mrs Thomas has acquired experience in the implementation of ERP/Software Systems at various organizations, such as the University of Botswana, Diamond Trading Company Botswana, Botswana Housing Corporation, Botswana Life Insurance, and the Department of Roads Transport & Safety. She also has experience in designing and developing various eCommerce portals and web-based shipping applications. She is a Certified Android Application Engineer, Certified Microsoft Big Data Engineer, and a Microsoft Certified Professional. She has presented her research papers in various international conferences, published in ‘International Journal of Emerging Trends in Engineering Research and has contributed a book chapter in the Springer series [Thomas A., Narasimhan V.L. (2020) Modelling CPU Execution Time of AES Encryption Algorithm as Employed Over a Mobile Environment]. Her areas of research include Mobile Cloud Computing and Mobile Security.Thomas teaches subjects such as Mobile Operating Systems, Mobile Communications, Mobile Device Programming, and Wireless Network Security.
